"Perpetual War?"

One thing I've learned in life is: you never know what someone will do until they do it. You simply can't depend on anyone's doing the right thing - or the wrong thing - in any given situation.

The U.S. House of Representatives recently voted on a bill that gives the President the power to declare and authorize war - bypassing Congress' constitutional authority.

Of course, this has already been done in the past, but this bill would make it legal. And, once again, shred another piece of our Constitution.

This new law would give our President - whoever it is - full legal authority to send our troops to engage in acts of war anywhere - at any time. It basically puts us in a position of perpetual war, without any oversight from the American people or Congress.

Not that our current Congress is trustworthy, either. But, do you want one man - or woman - having this kind of power?

NEVER believe you know what anyone - much less an elected official - will do in any given situation! Power makes human beings crazy! They turn into people who believe they have no limits.

The bill has now gone to the Senate. Please use the Congressional Contact box in the right column of Sayin-NO.com and let your senators know you won't stand for this. Tell them voting for this kind of madness will lose them your vote - and mean it!

Our Constitution was written to prevent the very things that are happening right now in this country. When George W. Bush said, "It's just a GD piece of paper," I knew we were sunk.

I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of our elected officials using the Constitution for toilet paper. Those bastards need to go back to The RULES!

Just sayin' ...
