"Silence is Acceptance"
My God, what a week! I find myself, once again, either shaking my head or tearing my hair out. I find myself wanting to go out and slap a few people up aside the head!
Two things stood out ...
One was the audience booing the moderator at a Republican debate when she asked Herman Cain about the sexual harassment accusations against him.
That's right - the audience BOOED! They thought this was an inappropriate question! And, let's not forget those who have supported him to the tune of $9 million over the past month - while he's wisecracking about Anita Hill! UN-believable!
Now, I understand the concept of innocent until proven guilty. But, as my grandma used to say, "Where there's smoke, there's fire." My experience has been this is correct unless someone is deliberately set up.
So, of course, that's the claim - "The Democrats did it!" Right. And, I don't write these articles. Some real bitch comes in here, takes over my computer and signs my name.
And, now, Cain has told the Georgia Young Republicans in Atlanta, on Saturday, that God told him to run for president.
Hey, wait a minute! Didn't God tell Michele Bachmann to run for president? God must have a plan. Maybe it's to flush out the looney-tunes.
The second situation that set me on my ear was at Pennsylvania State University. When their beloved coach, Joe Paterno, was fired for his part in not reporting child sexual molestation by assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky, the students rioted!
They knocked over TV News vans and generally raised hell because their adored Paterno was nailed. Somehow, I guess they thought - since he is such a great coach - he should be excused for his own behavior in the situation.
Where the hell was the tear gas in that demonstration?
Paterno's final words to his worshipers at his home? "Thanks and pray a little bit for those victims." Really? Is that what he's been doing? Praying a little bit?
Now ... What about the other 14 people on that campus - and those involved with The Second Mile (Jerry Sandusky's group foster home for troubled young boys) - who knew about his behavior before Sandusky was arrested?
Every damn one of them should be arrested as accessories. Anyone who knows about this kind of situation, and doesn't report it to the authorities, is actively helping the perpetrator to continue the behavior!
Silence ... is ... acceptance!
As far as I'm concerned every damn one of them is a child abusing pervert by association in their refusal to report it to the authorities and insist Sandusky be sent up the river where he can find out how HE likes it when some big bruiser says, "Bend over."
I swear to God, I think the cheese has fallen completely off the cracker in this country! I'm sorry, but no matter how much people BOO and object to people being forced to accept responsibility for their behavior, there isn't enough turd polish in the world to clean up these messes!
Humanity has a Long Way to Go
Some folks believe humanity is about to experience some kind of worldwide, instant enlightenment. Well, I'm sure we'll be enlightened, alright. However, I seriously doubt it will be anything like the enlightenment of the Buddha.
In spite of the longevity of the human being on this planet, we're only at about the maturity of a 2-year-old. Okay - I'll give it to you - maybe 3.
We seem completely incapable of either controlling, or restraining our behavior when it comes to anything we want - or want to do. That's why we have to have governments - to govern!
Governments are supposed to make laws in an effort to keep order - and keep people SAFE! Even then, we babies think nothing of breaking those laws when we want to do something. Nevertheless, breaking the laws does bring consequences.
We are a strange people. We're willing to go into another country and, for no reason, maim and kill men, women and children - and destroy the living standards of the rest - but we're also willing to give and give to those in the midst of a natural disaster.
We'll create war zones, then make a big deal about the aftermath of a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, etc. "looking" like a war zone. As if some god waged war against us. And, we still don't get it!
Christian countries rarely follow what Jesus taught! In fact, in today's terms, people in the day of Jesus would have considered him a liberal - which is probably why they put him on that cross.
It's so much easier to follow the Old Testament of hatred and violence and a vengeful God. Then, we can exhibit all our basest human qualities at the same time we claim to be "good Christians."
69% of GOPers polled said they either didn't believe the accusations against Herman Cane - or didn't care. These are the same folks who claim to be Christian based!
So, on top of everything else, I wish to hell these people would get in the right testament of the Bible. Then, look at - and live - the meaning of the word "Christian" (it's right in the very WORD) - or else shut the hell up about being one.
God forbid anyone stop the victimization of children when the fate of a football team was at stake. We'll just, "Pray a little bit for those victims."
Indeed.
Just sayin' ...
